Vincenzo De Cotiis

An Italian artist whose works blur the boundaries between art, architecture, and product design. Critically acclaimed and included in Architectural Digest’s global AD100 list, Vincenzo De Cotiis is rightly considered a pioneer of the collectible design movement, which is changing perceptions of the value and status of objects by transforming interior elements into unique collectible art objects. Born in 1958 in Gonzaga, Italy, he graduated from the Politecnico di Milano, where he developed his approach based on respect for historical context and experimentation with materials. In 1997, he founded the Vincenzo De Cotiis Architects studio in Milan, where he lives and works. In 2024, he opened the Fondazione Vincenzo De Cotiis in Palazzo Giustinian Lolin in Venice.

Vincenzo De Cotiis creates functional objects and art pieces, masterfully combining the unique craftsmanship of his studio’s artisans with rare, semi-precious materials such as pink rhodonite, Australian stromatolite, restored fibreglass with  hand-applied patina, black onyx, cast white bronze and German silver.
